Rachel Cobb married Elijah Brazzill Stinson 1781 in Surry County, North Carolina. They moved to Georgia after the Revolutionary War, then to Wayne County, Kentucky. They moved to Montgomery County, Kentucky before moving to Vanderburgh County, Indiana. Rachel died from burns received when her nightgown caught fire.

"and was very old and feeble, being in her 85th year, and blind. The family were [sic] during the afternoon, and left a boy to take care of her. He built a fire by her order, and went out of the house for a few minutes. On his return, she was lying on the hearth, horribly burned, and her clothes nearly consumed. She lived but a short time thereafter."

The small family cemetery is located in Howell Station next to the Howell Station Railroad yard. It was located behind Benoni Stinson's house which has been torn down. There are several small silos partially surrounding the cemetery.
