Fifty Great Mig. Colonists to NE, John B. Threlfall, Pgs 276-279
According to FGMC to NE by Threfall- The parentage of Ellen is unknown. There were a number of Burgoynes living in
Cambridgeshire. If Ellen descended from Thomas PAYTON , then she had royal ancestors through that family. The FREVILE family
also had royal ancestry and it seems certain that she at least descended from them. [source: Patty Cox's Genealogy site,

HELEN LEETE of EVERSDEN, Cambs., A.D. 1564.
Helen Leete of Eversden. Adm. granted to Thomas Leete, her son, 2 May,1564. She is described as a widow. (Helen or Ellen Leete was the wife of John Leete of Eversden, Cambs., whose name stands at the head of the Eversden Branch of the Family, in the Heralds' Visitation of Cambridgeshire in 1619.)
{geni:about_me} Helen [Ellen] had an estate probated on 2 May 1564 in Eversden, county Cambridge, England. She is described as a "gentlewoman" when she was named godmother in the baptismal record of Alice Sutton at Toft. Her son, Thomas, was granted administration of her will on 2 May 1564. Threfall, John, "50 Great Migration Colonists to New England & Their Origins," 1990, p. 267......A reference to 60 acres owned by "Elyn", wife of John Leete, in "Southebyll" in Bedfordshire--which might have established her ancestry--is untraceable, as of 2020. 174 NEHGR 139-140 "Southill" is, however, quite near Sutton, where Thomas Burgoyne (the "first of the family" connected with the Biggleswade district) was buried, 1516. Samuel Lysons, "Magna Brittania"(1813), page 139......Royal descent from the Leete couple is treated as worthy of note, but "speculative" in Gary Boyd Roberts, "The Royal Descents of 900 Immigrants" (2018), page clxxxvi.
Her parents unknown. Threlfall has data on the Burgoyne family, however.
Admin. on her estate was granted to he son Thomas on 2 May 1564.
