1901 aged 6, living at Wesley Cottage, Pirton with his parents, Lewis and Mary Ann Reynolds, and siblings William, Sarah, George, Harry and Emily. 1911 aged 16, living at 3 Wesleys Cottages, Cromwell Terrace, Pirton with his parents, Lewis and Mary Ann Reynolds. Oct 1917 Home on leave until 28th October, just over a month later he was killed. The exact circumstances of his death are uncertain, but its known that whilst he and some colleagues were resting on their way back to the Front Line, a nearby ammunition dump exploded. Walter’s death was instant. The date was 2nd December 1917* ; Walter was 23. 1917 Private 242137. 2nd/5th Bn., Gloucestershire Regiment. Killed in action Sunday 2 December 1917. Born Hitchin.
