In the annual report of the St George's Dispensary, 1909-10, under "General History":- "The Nursing Department is in charge of Miss Ranger". Among the papers from the LCC Education Department now housed in the London Metropolitan Archive is a file of correspondence from the St George's Clinic. This contains two letters, one to the Education Officer about attendance cards, signed "Gertrude M Ranger pp L Haden Guest", the other to Miss Phelps of the Education Office about Easter Closure, signed "G M Ranger" 1891 aged 8, living at St Margaret Station Hospital, Rochester with her parents, Leonard and Mary Ranger, and siblings Ethelbert, Arthur, Rhoda and Harold. 1901 aged 18, living at Sculthorpe All Saints, Walsingham, Norfolk in the employment of widow Eliza Orris 85. 1911 aged 28, living in three rooms at 38 Algar Buildings, Webber Row, Southwark St George the Martyr, head of household, with her two brothers Arthur Willard 24 and Ernest Charles 18.
