Frederick's date of birth is still a bit of a mystery, on the 1841 Essex census he is aged 13, 1851 Essex he is 24, 1871 London he is down as Age 41, on the 1881 he is 43? Noted as deceased at the baptism of his son Frederick in August of 1885. The only possible death I have been able to find at this time is for Frederick Alfred March Qtr 1885 London City 1c 18, aged 50. It also seems his name is a bit of a mystery, in some parish records he is named as Edmond Frederick, Frederick Edmond, Frederick Edward, Frederick Alfred and Frederick.
1841 aged 13, living at Woodford Row with his parents William & Frances Harris, and sister Caroline aged 10.
1851 aged 24, unmarried, living at Woodford with his parents William and Frances Harris.
1861 census, not found yet.
1862 According to the marriage registry Frederick was living at White Hart Court, Bishopsgate - The entry in British History Online describes it: "West out of Bishopsgate, at No, 119, in Bishopsgate Ward Without (P.O. Directory).
The date 1480 was cut in the stone on the front of the house prior to its demolition.
Described in 1583 as a capital house or inn in parish of St. Botolph without Bisshoppesgate between the cemetery of the parish church of St. Botolph south, the gate or entry of the late house of the Blessed Mary of Bethlehem north and from the high street east to the garden of Bethlehem and the ditch of "la More "west.
The inn was pulled down in 1829 for the formation of Liverpool Street, and the Court occupies the site of the old courtyard of the inn. A new inn was erected on what was left of the site of the old inn.
1869 Frederick and Jane were married in February 1869 at Hackney Parish church, his occupation was that of Coachman. His father, William Harris, a tailor, signed the marriage certificate along with an A.E. Meredith.

His occupation was coachman, Jane's occupation was dressmaker. Living with them were Frederick's two daughters from his first marriage, Esther aged 9, and Frances aged 7. Also living here was Herbert Bennett, aged 8, Jane's illegitimate son, born in Underriver. RG10/325/folio 58

*"In the 1850's new roads were laid across the Mildmay estate and building increased in the south and east parts of the area. By the mid 1850s Mildmay Park from Newington Green to Ball's Pond Road was lined with pairs of substantial stuccoed houses of three storeys, with side porches and basements. Mildmay Street was partially built up and the lines of Mildmay Grove North and South had been laid out on either side of the N.L.R. line, which was completed through the district in 1850."

I originally thought his death was in 1889 and have a certificate for a Frederick Harris, cab proprietor, however he is shown as deceased at the baptism of his son Frederick in 1885. Details of 1889 certificate are: BMD Death Index March Quarter 1889 Islington Vol.lb, P.174 Death 4 March 1889 aged 59. This Frederick died in the Holborn Infirmary from Bronchitis certified by J.C.(W or Mc)Learn, M.D. who also acted as informant, the death was registered on the 6th March 1889. Registrar C.R. Batcher. Frederick's address at this time was 4 Hermes Street, Clerkenwell, and his occupation was still that of cab driver-proprietor. This cannot be my great grandfather.
Another death entry at about the right time is for Frederick Alfred Harris aged 50 at London City RD Mar Qtr 1885 1c 18. At the baptism of his daughter Charlotte he was named in the baptism entry as Frederick Alfred Harris.
