Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Griffin
This is the last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Griffin of Linslade in the County of Bucks Widow I bequeath unto my son George Griffin my gold brooch, six silver teaspoons marked G and one of my silver teaspoons I bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth the wife of Christopher Elliott my pair of silver sugar tongs and one of my silver table spoons I bequeath unto my daughter Louisa Liddington my six silver tea spoons marked DEG and one of my silver table spoons I bequeath unto my daughter Mary the wife of Robert Willison my four silver salt spoons, my silver mustard spoons and one of my silver table spoons and I bequeath unto my grandson Henry Edward the son of my said son George Griffin, my silver watch I bequeath all the residue of my personal estate to the said George Griffin and Christopher Elliott my Trustees hereinafter named Upon trust to convert and get in the same and after payment of all expenses incurred on such conversion my funeral and testamentary expenses to retain unto and for the benefit of the said George Griffin one equal fifth part or share thereof and unto and for the benefit of the said Christopher Elliott one other equal fifth part or share thereof and to pay and divide two other equal fifth parts or shares thereof unto and equally between the said Louise Liddington and Mary Willison and to dispose of the one fifth part or share then remaining in their hands for the benefit of my grandchildren Ernest Joseph Griffin and Bertha Griffin the issue of my late son Edwin Griffin in manner hereinafter directed I direct my said trustees to pay the share hereinbefore bequeathed to my said Grandchildren Ernest Joseph Griffin and Bertha Griffin unto their Grandfather Joseph Seamons of Weedon in the county of Bucks, farmer Upon trust that he may invest the same in his name in the public funds or on Government securities of the United Kingdom or on real securities in England with liberty to change the investment at his discretion for any other or others of the kinds prescribed and to accumulate the yearly income by similar investments until my said grandchildren shall attain the age of twenty one years or die under that age and if they shall attain that age thereupon to transfer to them both the original fund and the accumulation but if either of them should die under that age then I direct the said Joseph Seamons to divide the share of him or her so dying unto and equally .. between all my children that may be living at the time of his or her decease I declare that if any or either of my said children shall depart this life leaving issue him her or them surviving then an in that case such issue shall take the share or respective shares to which his her or their deceased parent or parents would have been entitled if living I appoint my said son George Griffin and the said Christopher Elliott to be Trustees and Executors of my will In witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand and I have also set my hand to the preceding sheet of this my Will this fifth day of March in the year or our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy two Elizabeth Griffin Signed by the said Elizabeth Griffin (the Testatrix) as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses: Fred Willis, Solicitor, Leighton James Monteath, Clerk to the said F Willis Proved at Oxford the sixteenth day of May 1872 by the oaths of George Griffin, the son and Christopher Elliott the Executors to whom administration was granted The Testatrix Elizabeth Griffin was late of Linslade in the County of Buckingham, Widow, and died on the twenty first day of March 1872 at Linslade aforesaid Under £200 F and D Willis, solicitors Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire It is hereby certified that the foregoing is a correct copy Dated this twenty third day of May 1872
