1629 Beneficiary and co-executor with her son Robert in her husband's will
"...To Dame ELIZABETH, my wife, £120 and the old gold that is in her possession amounting to £20 and upwards and all the chains and jewels which are in her custody of gold, pearl and precious stones and all my household stuff and utensils of the household remaining in the Colledge house of Maidstone where I late dwelt except the tapestry hanging in the great chamber. Also I give her a full third part in three equal parts to be divided of all my linen and silver. My lease of Rectory of East Sutton towards payment of my debts. The other two parts of linen and of all my silver and gilt plate and silver plate and vessels of silver whatsoever except the two great gilt (?) bowls with their cover which I give to EDWARD FILMER, my godson after my wife's decease..."

also "...To wife Dame ELIZABETH, during her natural life, all my houses and lands and woodlands in the said parish of Darenth and my houses and lands in Lenham, Charing and Sutton Valence lately purchased of THOMAS HILLS, and one piece of woodland called Horwash lying in the parishes of Boxley and Dettling and one tenement lying in the parish of Borden, some time JAMES FILMER's. And after my wife's death I will that the said wood called Horwash and the lands bought of THOMAS HILLS in Sutton Valence shall be sold by my son Sir ROBERT if need shall require for payment of my debts and legacies. If it shall not so need then I give the said lands to my son Sir ROBERT and heirs..."

DAME ELIZABETH FILMER widow, late the wife of Sir EDWARD FILMER of East Sutton, county Kent. Knight. My body to Church of East Sutton aforesaid beside the body of my late husband. To poor of Maidstone in Kent if I am dwelling there at my death 40s. To poor of East Sutton £5.

To Dame ANNE FILMER wife to my son Sir ROBERT FILMER my jewel with diamonds and pearls.
To ELIZABETH FILMER their daughter and SARA FILMER my daughter my four ropes of pearls containing 600 in number equally between them.
To EDWARD FILMER eldest son of my said son Sir ROBERT a Portugues piece of gold and a piece of gold of King Henry VII coinage both which were his great grandfathers.
To the two younger sons of my son Sir ROBERT viz; ROBERT and SAMUEL 40s. apiece.
To ANNE youngest daughter of said Sir ROBERT 40s.
To my daughter MARY KNATCHBULL widow my boder of gold and pearl and £10.
To her daughter MARIE the wife of JOHN VNDERWOOD, gent, my agate and pearl jewel.

Dame ELIZABETH FILMER willeth that her three houses in Knighrider Street (now that her son REGINALD FILMER is deceased) shall be disposed as follows; £30 of the first years rent to JANE late the wife of said REGINOLD and after decease of testatrix to the use of her executor he paying yearly to ELIZABETH FAULKNER daughter of Dame ELIZABETH FILMER and wife of WILLIAM FAULKNER £10. Whereas said Dame ELIZABETH had bequeathed to ELIZABETH daughter of ROBERT BARHAM, gentleman, a competent porcion, her will is that £50 of the said legacy in case said ELIZABETH BARHAM depart this life before attaining 18 years shall be equally divided between the two daughters of said REGINALD. And lastly said Dame ELIZABETH FILMER willeth to SUSAN BARHAM £50 apeece (sic). Memorandum the legacy of £50 apiece to SUSAN and ANNE BARHAM were enterlyned before the signing hereof. Witnesses; R. BATCHURST, FRANCES BATCHURST, EDWD. BATCHURST, WM. WISEMAN, THOMAS WALTER. 1638 After Sir EDWARD FILMER's death his wife, Dame ELIZABETH, continued to live at East Sutton Place until her death in 1638.
