By the will of his father (1707) received a quarter share of the remainder of his real estate (with his brothers) plus a quarter of any residue of the sale of Little Kippington etc. Joint legatee and co-executor (with nephew, Richard Hills) of goods chattels & personal estate of brother John, 1744.
Simon R Hill found a Will for Thomas (PROB11/752, sig.5) made on 6 February 1745 and proven 20 January 1746. To his son William he leaves one guinea, as he has already been provided for by the Will of his Uncle, John Cogger deceased. The remainder of the Estate is divided equally between his son John (b.1721) and his daughter Elizabeth (b.1720), who are appointed Executors and Guardians of William until his coming of age (he was born 1729). This would seem to indicate that William was the nephew mentioned in the 1744 will of John Cogger of Sevenoaks, and this is reinforced by the fact that one of the witnesses to Thomas' Will is William Burgis, probably his brother in law, the husband of his sister Jane, whose son Isaac is also mentioned in the 1744 Will. Other witnesses were Edward Stow and Nathaniel Pearston. Noted on A2A website: Bothamley Deeds Box B Bundle 10: FILE: Release by way of mortgage, THOMAS COGGER to Ralph Bosville of DIBDEN HOUSE, Sevenoaks, Ref.U92/B/10/4 dated 1740. Could this THOMAS and his brother FRANCIS be the two mentioned in JOHN COGGER'S 1744 Will? Therefore the said JOHN COGGER would also be a son of Elizabeth. After further research this does seem to be the case.
