The wedding "excited much interest in this village" and "the spectators quite filled the edifice". After the wedding breakfast, "they proceeded to Eastbourne, proposing to spend a few days there and complete their honeymoon on the Continent". She was also at school with her in 1871 at Eden House Young Ladies School.
