1652, Oct. 18. His father bought land in Warwick, thus early (of Benedict Arnold), upon which Abiah subsequently settled.
1669, Apr. 1. Warwick. He took a receipt from William Baker, and wife Mary, for a yearling heifer.
1670, Jun. 24. He bought of Edmund Calverly, administrator of Thomas Smith, the house and land that had belonged to latter, for the sum of £40.
1676, Aug. 25. He testified before the Court Martial, which sat at Newport, to try certain Indians charged with being engaged in King Philip's designs. He said that Wenanaquabin, who had been living with him, went away from his house sometime in May, 1675, and he did not see him again, nor could hear of him till towards winter. (Wenaquabin had been charged with being at the wounding of John Scott, at Providence).
1678, Oct. 23. He was fined 20s., for not serving on jury.

Abiah Carpenter, born April 9, 1643, died 1703, was of Rehoboth, Mass., and Warwick, R. I. In October, 1652, his father bought land in Warwick of Benedict Arnold, upon which Abiah subsequently settled. April 1, 1669, he was living in Warwick, and was Deputy, 1682, and on the Grand Jury, 1687.
His son, Solomon Carpenter, (1678-1750), was living in "Kings Towne" May, 1705, when he exchanged lands with Ephraim Bull. His will was proved
October 8, 1750. He married, March 18, 1703, Elizabeth, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Jenckes) Tefft; she died in 1750.
Their son, Daniel Carpenter, was born December 28, 1712, and married, April 29, 1733, Renewed, the daughter of Ephraim and Margaret Smith.
Their daughter, Margaret Carpenter, married Robert Rodman, Sr., whose son, Robert Rodman, married Elizabeth Hazard.
