"I descend from Bruff's and Hannah's dau. Mary who md. Henry Hart about 1768-69. Their first child was born Aug 1770. Charles Broughton sold his inheritance in Somerset in Jun 1768 (I guess he had to wait until he was 21 to do that) and moved to southwest Pennsylvania soon thereafter. I do not know Henry Hart's origins, but he was closely connected to Charles Broughton, both in Pennsylvania and in Kentucky and served as administrator of Charles's estate in Kentucky."

I am a descendant of John's son Bruff and Hannah. Henry Hart d. ca. July 1815 in Bullitt Co. KY md. (1) Mary Broughton, dau. of Bruff and (2) Elizabeth Shain Broughton, widow of Mary's bro. Charles - maybe. There is an interesting court suit from Bullitt Co. Court over some land warranted by Charles Broughton. Charles died intestate and the suit names his heirs as: sister Elizabeth Hartt, wife of Henry Hartt, sister Nancy Shain, wife of Francis Shain; Mary Broughton, his mother. Other depositions indicate that nobody was sure of who was who since it took place in 1814 after the death of those involved.
