Thomas Dyeck (b. 1630 in Parish, England; d. 1660 in Canterbury, Kent, England). He was the son of Edward Dyeks (b. 1600 in England; d. 1699 in St. Andrew By The Wardrobe, London, England) & his Wife - Elizabeth ?

Cockermouth Castle ·Äì here is a picture of the dungeon where Thomas Dykes (Dyeck) uttered the words "rather broken than bent" when he would not renounce allegiance to the king (Charles 1st) and join the Parliamentarians, and so he was tortured and left to die in the dungeon at Cockermouth Castle. Note that the dungeon only has one small window.
