Alexander de Shoresworth Will granted to Margaret de Shoresworth"all his messuages, land,and tenements in the hamlet of Denton. (Margaret daughter of Robert de Shoresworth). A few days later Margaret grants the same estate to Thurston her son with remainder to William, son of Robert de Radcliffe and his heirs, further remainders to John, brother of the said William, and Robert, son of William de Worsley. Thurston's father, Sir William, probably died about 1318...Norman-French grant to Thurston from Sir Robert de Holland, Knight, probably Thurston's uncle, to "Thurston de Holland, son of Margaret de Shoresworth," and his heirs, of all his lands and tenements, with certain services in "Heeten sour Fagefeld." The grant is dated at "Sandal, near Wakefield in Yorkshore, on the Wednesday in The Feast of St. Mark, 12 Edward II. (1319). Discussion about Denton Hall follows, then black and white drawing/pictures. 1341 deeds with Thurston de Holland listed. These are still part of Earl of Wilton's papers today. King Edward issued letters to Thurston de Holland, dated at Windsor, 12th June, 1345. at the request of "our cousin, Henry of Lancaster, he pardons ills of Thomas (but ills are not defined). p.24
