Elizabeth (Wheaton) Turner was born in Taunton, Somerset, England.
Elizabeth Wheaton was born about 1613 in Taunton, Somerset, England to parents Alexander Wheaton and Elizabeth Gibbes. She was christened on 10 Sep 1613 in St Mary Magdalene's Church, Taunton, Somerset, England. [1]
She married firstly John Winter on 29 Sep 1631 in Taunton St Mary Magdalene, Taunton, Somerset, England.[2][3]
They had five children:[4]
Catherine Winter (1633-1653)
John Winter (1638-1696)
Obadiah Winter (1636-1675)
Timothy Winter (1640-1694)
Elizabeth (Winter) Gardner (1642-1698)
John immigrated to America in 1636. Elizabeth with children Katherine and Obadiah immigrated with friends or relatives, Edward and Mary Wyatt, on the ship Speedwell leaving Weymouth, Dorset, England on 22 Apr 1637. They settled in Scituate, Massachusetts.
John Winter died in 1651 in Scituate, Massachusetts; there are reports that he may have been murdered: "He lived in Scituate, MA, where he was found dead, killed by violence just before Jun 8, 1651."[5][6]
Elizabeth married secondly James Turner about 1652 in Massachusetts.[7]
Children:
Peregrine, 1653.[8]
After James died about 1764, Elizabeth married thirdly John Cromwell about 1675. They moved to Rye, Westchester, New York. When John died in 1696 Elizabeth went to live with her daughter Elizabeth in Westchester, New York.
Elizabeth died about 1699 in Rye, Westchester, New York.[9]

Will of Elizabeth, widow of John Cromwell.
"United States, New York Land Records, 1630-1975, Westchester, Deeds 1681-1698 vol A-B" (images 326-7)
Elizabeth, the widow of John Cromwell of Westchester County, NY, left a living will in which she signed over all of her moveable property and livestock to her "eldest" daughter, Elizabeth and son-in-law, Henry Gardner and their heirs, in consideration for providing her with shelter and care during her last days, as she was nearly blind and quite aged.
In addition to alluding to more than one daughter, she also referred to her late husband as John Cromwell, "Sr.", suggesting that there may have been at some time a John Cromwell, "Jr.".

That JOHN WINTER of Scituate, Mass., 1637, prob. brother of CHRISTOPHER WINTER of the same, was the only one to have a son, OBADIAH WINTER, b. ca. 1639. The elder died by violence in 1651 and his widow m. James Turner, and they had also chil. Catharine, and another son, John Winter, bapt. 1 Apr. 1638, (SAVAGE, Vol. IV, p. 606). Of the foregoing, (POPE, p. 508) names wife of JOHN WINTER, also as Katharine d. 19 Dec. 1653. OBADIAH WINTER, alias ·ÄúGrabum·Äù came to Woodbridge and was a F.S. there very early. He died in 1675, leaving a will dated 1674-5 Feb. 1, naming wife, Margaret, and sons, JOSIAH VVINTER and OBADIAH WINTER, and father-in-law, John Cromwell, (Vide, ante, this PART, p. 813). Westchester Land Records Liber A, Page 264: "Deed from John Winter of Westchester, Westchester County to Henry Gardner of the same place, dated 1 July 1678, by which John Winter conveys the Home Lot "formerly belonging to Obediah Winter" brother of the Grantor, which Lot adjoins the Lot "which did belong to James Turner" Step-Father of Obediah and John Winter; also six acres of Upland "lying near Quimby's field, which Lot did also formerly belong to Obediah Winter, and bounded...to the Land which did formerly belong to Lawrence Turner." [Likely Step-Brother of Obediah and John Winter, and son of James Turner." This record strongly supports the case that James Turner, who had married the widow of John Winter (c.1606-1651) at Scituate, Massachusetts in 1652, is identical to the James Turner who appears at Westchester by 1662 with Obediah, John, and Timothy Winter, known sons of John (died 1651) of Scituate, that these are his Step-Sons, and that Lawrence Turner (c.1630-1668), whose land adjoined the others, is surely a son of James Turner. New York Land Records 1630-1975, Westchester, New York
"Court of Sessions for Westchester County 15-16 November 1687 Naomi (Winter) (Turner) Coomes, wife of Phillip Coomes and formerly widow of Peregrine Turner, asks the Court to have her children removed from the custody of her present husband Phillip Coomes, and to require Coomes to submit an Inventory of her late husband Peregrine Turner's Estate. The Court agrees, and orders that the Turner "girls" be placed with "their Grandmother Elizabeth Cromwell with whom they have formerly lived and John Cromwell Senior." Elizabeth Wheaton (1613-living 1699) had married (1st, 1631) John Winter (1606-1651), (2nd, 1652) James Turner (c.1608-before 1675), (3rd, by 1675) John Cromwell Sr.; she was the mother of Peregrine Turner, and grandmother to his two daughters."
