1 marriage:
MESNARD Pierre known as Xainctonge:
Soldier of the Cie St Ours regiment
Of unknown origin, he was born around 1636 since he was given 45 years in the 1681 census. He combines the functions of seigneurial notary and shoemaker of the parish of Saint-Ours. A recently found document proves to us that he started his legal practice on 11/27/1667. This confirms our hypothesis that Jean-Talon released his soldiers well, as soon as he had the possibility, in order to make them work, in their field in order to be more useful to the colony. A large part of them were demobilized when De Tracy left. Soldier of the company of Saint-Ours who left France on the ship Saint-Sébastien with Messrs de Courcelle and Talon on May 24, 1665, to dock in Quebec on September 12 of the same year.
Married to a daughter of the king, Marguerite Deshaies or Deshayes, around 1670, the marriage certificate and contract cannot be found. Marguerite Deshaies was 35 years old at the 1681 census, so born around 1646 in the archbishopric of Rouen, in Normandy (no document allows to know her parents). She is the sister of Marie Deshaies, also daughter of the king and married to Adrien Bétourné dit Laviolette. Marie was confirmed at Fort Chambly on May 20, 1668 at the age of 13, and is said to be from the diocese of Rouen. Several soldiers of the Carignan regiment received the sacrament of confirmation upon their arrival in New France in 1665 in Quebec.

Mesnard was Catholic, and had already received the sacrament of confirmation in France, why did his children not receive it in 1675 or 1676? Yet were they old enough? Dumas tells us that Pierre Mesnard received from Father Frémin the Jesuit "a place in the town" of Cap-de-la-Madeleine on October 5, 1664 (Not. De Latouche).
He is mistaken in confusing Pierre Mesnard with Pierre Ménart. Anyway, Pierre Mesnard died between August 28, 1693 date of his last contract, and January 21, 1695 at the wedding of his son Pierre, from where it is said on this marriage contract, that Marguerite Deshaies was widow of Pierre Mesnard. Marguerite Deshaies was buried in Repentigny on November 17, 1709.

Household established in Saint-Ours. 7 children.
Data provided by Gérald Ménard, after his research. If you use it please do not Copy / Paste and put the SOURCES
1) Marie-Marguerite: probably born in Saint-Ours around 1670-71, since she was 10 years old at the 1681 census, and registered in Sorel. The latter married three times. His first with François GÉLINEAU dit Lachapelle master shoemaker, dated May 15, 1687 in Saint-Ours, recorded in Contrecoeur. Widowed, she takes for second husband, Luc DEGUIRE dit Larose around 1698 in Contrecoeur. We cannot verify this marriage in the register of the parish of Contrecoeur, because as said previously, the register of 1698 was destroyed by fire. He was the son of François DEGUIRE dit Larose and Marie-Rose COLIN de Saint-Ours. Widowed again, Marie-Marguerite MÉNARD took Louis GAUTHIER dit Landreville for her third husband on January 25, 1701 in Montreal (Cont. Not. Adhémar). Marie-Marguerite MÉNARD died of the delivery of her daughter Anne GAUTHIER and was buried on March 12, 1713 in Repentigny Que., Canada. An inventory of property after death was recorded by the notary SENET on April 15, 1713.
2) Pierre: born around 1672, probably in Saint-Ours. On January 21, 1695, he contracted marriage, around seven in the morning in front of Paneslat DUMONTIER, missionary for Saint-Ours and Contrecoeur, with Suzanne de LaPORTE known as Saint-George, daughter of Jacques La Porte called Saint-George and Nicole Duchesne. Captain of the Contrecoeur coast militia.
Died 26 and buried May 27, 1746 in the cemetery of Saint-Ours, registered in Contrecoeur.

3) Marie-Madeleine: Born December 5, 1674 in Saint-Ours and baptized February 2, 1675 in Contrecoeur. She married for the first time at the age of 23 with Pierre CHEVALLIER dit Labbé and Duchesne on October 10, 1697 in Notre-Dame church in Montreal. She married in second marriage, Jean-François DELPECHE (DALPEC) dit Bélair,
(Cont. 11 February 1711, Not.Taillandier). Marie-Madeleine Mesnard died on 09 and buried on March 10, 1758 in Saint-Sulpice Quebec, aged 92. In fact, she was only 83, since born in 1675.

4) Geneviève Mesnard or Mesnard dit Saintonge: Born on July 21 and baptized on July 23, 1677 in Saint-Ours, deed recorded in Boucherville and Contrecoeur. She takes for husband on January 11, 1700 in the Child-Jesus parish of Pointe-aux-Trembles in Montreal, Pierre Guillaume PAYET dit St-Amour, son of Pierre and Louise TESSIER. Geneviève Mesnard was buried in the cemetery of the parish of Repentigny on December 4, 1755, aged 80. In fact, she was only 78 years old since born in 1677.

5) Marie-Catherine Ménard-Saintonge: She was born in 1679 probably in Saint-Ours. She was two years old at the 1681 census. She married on December 11, 1698 in Saint-Ours, Jean DEGUIRE dit Larose, son of François DeGUIRE dit Larose and Marie-Rose COLIN de Saint-Ours. She died at the Hôtel-Dieu in Montreal and was buried on September 15, 1713 in Montreal. On the record, she is said to be around 38 years old. In fact, if she were two years old at the 1681 census, that would give us 33-34 years when she died.

6) Adrien Mesnard-Saintonge: Born in Saint-Ours on October 29 and baptized on November 8, 1682, registered in Contrecoeur.
He took for wife after 1704 in Contrecoeur, Marie-Élisabeth FAYOLLE known as Marquis, daughter of Jean FAYOLLE known as Marquis and of Marie PAVIOT de Saint-Ours. Adrien MÉNARD died at the Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal and was buried in the same place on September 17, 1714, aged about 35

7) François Marie Ménard-Saintonge: Born and baptized on December 19, 1685 in Saint-Ours. The baptismal certificate recorded in the Contrecoeur register. He takes for wife on January 18, 1712 in Repentigny, (Cont. 9, Not. Nicolas Senet), Marie-Jeanne CHARPENTIER dit Lapaille daughter of Jacques CHARPENTIER dit Belhumeur-Lapaille and Marguerite MARTIN residents of Repentigny. François Marie Ménard died on September 16 and was buried on September 17, 1737 in Contrecoeur.

In the 1681 census, in the seigneury of Saint-Ours, it says:
Pierre Mesnard, shoemaker, 45, Marguerite Deshaies, his wife, 35, children: Marie 10, Pierre 9, Madeleine 7, Geneviève 4, Catherine 2; 1 rifle, 4 horned animals, 6 arpents of land in value
