ln 1292 this William de Bosville was compelled, with other Scottish barons, to submit to Edward the First of England, when he overran Scotland with his armies, and in 1296 he was again forced to swear fealty to the English king.
His son, Richard Bosville of Oxmuir, besides his estate in Berwickshire, was proprietor of other lands near Ardrossan in Ayrshire, as appears by a charter under the great seal from King Robert the Bruce, about 1320. He left two sons, William and Roger.
