Eleanor was a daughter of Sir Thomas FitzAlan of Betchworth, Earl of Arundel and Steward of the Household of King Henry VI.
Sir Thomas' father was Sir John FitzAlan, 2nd Lord Arundel, born 30 November 1364 and died 14 August 1390. Sir John's lineage can be traced back to King Henry III and his vast Plantagenet ancestry, which includes King John "Lackland," King Henry II and Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, etc.
Sir Thomas' mother was Elizabeth Despenser, died 10 April 1408. Elizabeth's ancestry can be traced back to the 800s, to the Danish Viking invaders & conquerors of Normandy and consists of numerous barons and earls.
