Mary LaBombard Thomas and I are related. Our family trees do not branch out until Jacques (Andre?) Bombardier's and Charlotte Goquet's children are born. I am descended from their son Pierre Bombardier, also known as Peter LaBombard. As Mary notes they settled in the Lake Champlain area.

Do you have the children of Charles and Mathilde married 1834? My G-G-G-GRANDFATHER Jerry was born around 1836 and was in Keeseville in the 1860 census with his wife Elizabeth Parent (Severy?). I can;t trace the Bombard(ier) before him.

Can I have birth dates for Moses siblings and siblings and birth dates for Charles Bombard (b. 1811). My Jerry Bombardier/Bombard was in Keeseville in 1860. He has to be related somehow. He married an Elizabeth Parent (or Severy). Their first child was Noah, age one month during the 1860 census. Supposedly thier 6th child Juliette, who is also an ancestor, was born in Canada according to her daughters birth certificate. Israel Bombard's death certificate (Jerry's son) lists his father as E. Bombard. Maybe that's Edward? The death certificate also lists Israel as Ezra, so who knows. If it is easier for you, I can send money for copies of family group sheets. Just reply to my e-mail address directly. (XXXXX@XXXX.XXX)

CHARLES LABOMBARDE - no age or spouse cited - buried 7 Sep 1860 - St. John the Baptist of Keeseville
Witnesses: Pierre Gilbert & Louis Godin

*****

DOMITILLE CHENET, Veuve Charles Labombarde, married REGIS ROY, Veuf Eleanor Roulette, 19 Sep 1866, St. John the Baptist of Keeseville

St. JB of Keeseville -Plot #C1:
Regis ROY - 1811 to 1891 & Eleanore GOULET - 1814 to 1863

Now here is where some confusion comes in.
Domitille married again in 1866, yet she isn't living with her 2nd husband in 1870 and by 1880, she cites herself as widowed, yet Regis Roy did not die until 1891.

So I went looking for him and found absolutely nothing under Regis/Remigius/etc. or Roy that could have been he. Next, I went back to Pontbriand's "Marriages....." and only found him listed once, as witness with William Fortin to the marriage of Rosalie Roy & Joseph Fortin on 14 May 1866 at St. Peter's of Plattsburgh.

From having worked with the volume for nearly 40 years, I'm aware of how often the witnesses are the respective fathers, but simply aren't listed as such.

I had no success finding any Ros* Roy in the 1860, so I went to the 1870 for she and husband and got her age as 28, so I went back to searching for any Ros* born @1842 and found her.Asmany French Canadians did, this Roy family Anglicized their name to King.

1860 at Ausable/PO Keeseville: Richard King (47, Canada), Leonora (47, Canada), Rosalie (18, NY), and Caroline (12, NY). I went further back to the 1850 at Ausable and they were then already using King - again as Richard and Leonora vs Regis and Eleonore, but certainly on the money for being the right people.

Despite any number of combinations of searches, I could not locate him in the 1870, but he was in Black Brook in the 1880 as Richard King (64, Canada), a boarder at the home of Harry Musgrove - his status is cited as married. There are only Harry, his wife, and child residing there. Had Mathilde and Regis divorced, one or another would likely have listed that status in 1880. So it appears they were estranged, as opposed to just living apart due to his working and boarding elsewhere. It may have been more convenient for Mathilde to cite her status as widow (which she technically was of Charles) than to state she lived apart from her husband. So that's the end of that quest.

Note: The church birth and baptism record indicates Charlotte Hebert as Charles' mother.
