Whereas John Simons of Lettle rever of the province of Caralina in the presenke of pascotank son to Thomas Simons and damaris white, daughter to henry white of the same County and presenke Laid there intentions of mareg before our monthly meeting at the house of henry white the 6 day of the 4 month 1700 and againe the second time the 4 day 5 month 1700 the same yere at the same house and inquire being maid and thay both being found clere he from all other weomen and she from all other men left them to ther liberty to take Ech other now this is to sertifie the truth to all people where it may come that John Simons and damaris white at a publek meeting in a publeke maner at the house of henry white the 8 day of the 6 month 1700 did take Ech other by the hand and ther in the presence of god and his people promis to live together in good order of truth and the anchant practtis of gods people as long as they live and we are witneses whose nams are under wreghten

"The preparative meetings which made up Pasquotank Monthly Meeting included Symons Creek, Newbegun Creek, the Narrows, Little River and Trueblood's. All these appear to have been located in Passquotank County except Little River; this meeting was located on the west side of Little River, in Perquimans County, but had its membership in both counties.
