Obituaries of Lois E Loete in qctimes news on May 31, 2001 reads:LeCLAIRE, Iowa -- Services for Lois E. Loete, LeClaire, will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at Nelson Heesch Funeral Home, LeClaire. The Rev. Kenneth Harden will officiate. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday with Silver Creek Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, conducting services at 7 p.m. Family burial will be Saturday at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Mrs. Loete died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Iowa Masonic Home, Bettendorf. Pallbearers will be Tim, Albert, Ted, Paul, Jeff, James and David Loete. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Loete, Chris Cary and Andy Meier. She was born Aug. 28, 1908, in LeClaire, a daughter of James P. and Ada Mae (Long) Suiter. She married Albert A. Loete on June 26, 1929, in Clinton. He died in August 1959. She is the last survivor out of 12 in her 1926 LeClaire High School graduation class. Lois attended Northern Iowa State Teachers College. She taught school from 1926 to 1928 at Maple Glen School in Princeton and at Sycamore School in LeClaire in 1929. Later she worked 10 years at Lenex Photo and had taught at Cody Elementary School in LeClaire. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in LeClaire and LeClaire Women's Club, a volunteer and former board member of Buffalo Bill Museum and a 75-year member of Silver Creek Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are daughters (and spouses), Laura (Elmer) Rummanns, North Port, Fla., and Mary (Craig) Meier, Las Cruces, N.M.; sons, Laurence J. Loete, Apple River, Ill., and William L. Loete, Moline; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Alta, Mary, Vernie and Eva; and a son, Albert J. Loete.
