In Overlijdensregister 1842, Leeuwarden, Aktenummer A585 staat dat Jan Willems Weening geboren is in Deinum, getrouwd is geweest met Marijke Pieters Terpstra, en zoon was van Willem Jans Weening en Maria Sybrens de Vries. W.J. Weening is waarschijnlijk foute spellinfg van W.J. Wijning.
