Eerder werd aangenomen dat Lambertus en Frederick waarschijnlijk zonen van Johannes Grimmius waren. Gezien de geboortedata en gegevens uit de archieven in Amsterdam gaan we er nu echter vanuit dat zij zonen van Fredrik waren. Dit is echter niet zeker.
