Notes about David Renkema

David Garmts Renkema wordt geboren op een boerderij bij Eibersburen, een buurtschap aan de rand van Lutjegast. Zijn vader Garmt Willems Renkema is daar boer. De boerderij moet hebben gestaan op het adres Eibersburen 12. In september 1877 gaat David voor een periode van vier maanden naar Grijpskerk, waar hij waarschijnlijk als losse knecht (= dagloner) voor een boer werkt. Op 9 januari 1878 komt hij weer bij zijn ouders wonen. Op 12 juni 1878 verlaat David Garmts definitief het ouderlijk huis en gaat dan opnieuw naar Grijpskerk. Hij is arbeider van beroep. In 1893 is hij koopman.
