Brief van Fokke Sybrens Westra, geboren 3 januari 1790 te Drogeham, wonende aldaar, zoon van Sybren Willems Westra en Trintje Foekes;
loteling lichting 1810 mairie Augustinusga lot nr.25; hij moet zich op 24 februari 1812 op het Tournooiveld te Leeuwarden melden ( bij de huidige ingang van de Prinsentuin tegenover de Doelestraat) voor opkomst in actieve dienst; wordt ingedeeld bij het infanterieregiment de Belle Isle, 2e bataljon, 4e compagnie; dit regiment was voor een groot samengesteld uit rekruten die als dienstweigeraar waren gearresteerd; Fokke Sybrens wordt eind 1814 als vermist opgegeven waarbij verklaard werd dat zijn laatste brief was van 7 oktober 1812 uit Stettin; dit kan niet juist zijn aangezien uit onderstaande brief blijkt dat hij zich op 4 september 1813 te Berlijn bevond.
