Waatze Eerdes Weening, 13 jarige uit Surhuisterveen, staat op 23 september 1893 samen met Jan Willems de Ruiter, 15 jarige uit Surhuisterveen, voor de rechter in Leeuwarden. De verdenking is onduidelijk, maar ze worden beiden op 30 september veroordeeld tot drie dagen gevangenisstraf.
Op 6 februari 1901 staat Waatze opnieuw voor de recher, nu met Fokke Weening, op verdenking van mishandeling. Ze worden op 13 februari elk tot twee maanden gevangenisstraf veroordeeld.
Op 27 mei 1918 staat hij weer voor de rechter, nu voor overtreding van de distributiewet. Hij wordt tot fl 30 boete veroordeeld.
