De broers Willem, Geert en Fokke Meetstra bewoonden een boerderij op 't Dorp, een buurtschap in de buurt van Doezum. Toen Willem Meetstra ging trouwen, bleven Geert en Fokke op de boerderij aan het eind van de Doezumertocht wonen. Passerende schippers in de Doezumertocht moesten aan hen tol betalen. Geert en Fokke waren niet onbemiddeld en leenden geld uit aan buurtgenoten. In 1925 gingen Geert en Fokke Meetstra met hun huishoudster Rieke Snip in Lutjegast wonen. Daar zijn de beide broers ook overleden.
