Hij was schippersknecht later stuurman ten tijde van zijn huwelijk en later kapitein. Werd naar kamp Amersfoort op transport gezet en tewerkgesteld op vliegkamp Deelen. Daaruit ontsnapte hij 5 december 1944. Vertrokken uit Aídam naar Nieuwer Amstel 29 sept. 1959.
