Jean-Baptiste Armirotto (°1789) werd als weeskind naar het Knechtjeshuis op de Paardenmarkt te Antwerpen gestuurd. Hij leerde daar de stiel van Tinnegieter. Op 18jarige leeftijd, in 1807,vertrekt hij naar de Kleine Cauwenberg en in oktober van dat zelfde jaar zien vinden we hem terug in Sectie 1 te Antwerpen (Coraelstraat?). Hij werkt daar dan an Kleermaker. Op het einde van het jaar zit hij in de Jodenstraat. Weer enkele weken later, in Januari 1808 vertrekt hij opnieuw.Later vinden we Jean-Baptiste terug in de Lange Doornickstraat. Ook woonde hij voor zijn huwelijk in Rumst.Zijn militieplicht werd afgeleverd in Kontich. Nadien trok hij naar Mechelen naar de Lange Hairgracht.
