Rosalia Coeck werd op 6 februari 1834 geboren in Bornem. Haar vader Jean werkte als landbouwer, haar moeder Joanna De Ridder was huisvrouw. Twee jaar voor de geboorte van Rosalia, huwde Rosalia's grootvader langs moederskant met de grootmoeder langs vaders kant. Beide waren al enkele jaren weduwenaars en vonden troost bij elkaar. De ouderlijke woning van Rosalia bevond zich op Hoog-luipeghem. Daar woonde Rosalia als kind samen met haar ouders, broers, zussen en grootmoeder Marie-Theresia Rolus. Grootmoeder overleed in 1847. Wanneer Rosalia zo'n 12 jaaroud is, overleed ook haar moeder, Joanna De Ridder.


Wat verderop, richting het centrum van Bornem, woonde het gezin Pauwels-Willaerts in de Kloosterstraat. In dit gezin werd in 1833 Fons Pauwels geboren.


 


Rosalia's ouderlijke gezin was afkomstig op Luipeghem.


 


Daar woonde ze al zeker tot haar 14-jaar. In 1856 overleed haar moeder Joanna De Ridder.


 


woonde al 12-jarige in 1846 bij haar ouders op Hoogluipeghem. Haar vader, Jean, was landbouwer.


 


 


Alfons was ongeletterd


Ludovica huwde met brouwersgast Ludovicus Valkaert, Maria Catharina huwde met de voerman Henricus Van kerkchoven. In 1905 overleed hun ongehuwde dochter Amelia.


Wanneer de jongste dochter, Lisse, 19 jaar oud is, overlijd moeder Rosalia Coeck. 4 jaar later sterft ook vader Alfons Pauwels.

They got married on May 9, 1860 at Bornem, België, she was 26 years old.
