Betekenis & afkomst van de naam Riské.


De familie Riské is ontstaan in de gemeente Temse. Daar kent het in de periode 1670-1800 variaties naar Rysky, Ryscky, Ryske, Risque, Risqui, Risquy, Ruyskuij. Tussen 1800 en 1900 zien we inTemse slechts twee vormen “Riské” en “Risque”. In Burcht is een de familie afgetakt naar “Rysky”, maar daar stierf de naam tegen 1850 uit. Rond 1900 is de naam  in Temse volledig aangepast na de huidige vorm Riské. Zo passen de dan levende Riské’s zelfs hun handtekening aan.


De naam Riské is waarschijnlijk afkomstig van Risquens / Riskens. In Antwerpen vinden we de familie Joannes “Juan” Risquens en zijn vrouw Gerardina Van Gerwen. Ze huwden rond 1648 en krijgen minstens 3 kinderen Willibrordus (°1689), Isabella-Maria en Jacomo. De eerstgenoemde Willibrordus werd graanmeester & spijkermeester te Affligem, Prioor te Bornem in de periode 1717-1724. Andere Risquens te Antwerpen zijn Jacobus Riskens (??- 19 april 1702, Antwerpen) en Susanna Riskens (??-4 jan 1703, A'pen), vrouw van Antonius Anselmo.  Alsook ene Gerardus Risquens ; (Riesquens/Rissen) °1652, en een Bernadina Rijskij heeft een kind in Antwerpen dat sterft in Sint-Andries genaamd Vander Heijden Isabella Petronella.


In 1587 bevond zich in Antwerpen ene Hans Riskens, zoon van Reinaart. Afkomstig uit Essen in Keleve en was van beroep pakker. Deze Hans Riskens was poorter


 


Ook in Temse zelf zien we een Riskens verschijnen. Ene Jan “Hans” Riskens (soms ook Ruskens/Risken genoemd) uit Antwerpen verschijnt begin 1600 in Temse en Bazel.  De betekenis vande naam is misschien een variant van Riskin. Mogelijk uit Raas over Raskin, diminutief van Germaanse naam Raas. De eerste échte Riské die we als hoofdvoorouder zien is ene Antonius “Anthony” Rischke geboren rond 1652 op een onbekende plek en overleden op 12 okt 1701 te Temse
