20 sept 1951 :
Inleiding en intrede van de Eerw. heer C. J. Kesting als hulpprediker te Middelharnis. Zondag 26 Aug. j.l. was voor de gemeente Middelharnis wel een blijde dag vanwege de inleiding en intrede van de Eerw. heer Kesting, overgekomen uit Gouda.
Na des morgens te zijn ingeleid door de plaatselijke predikant ds. Goedhart, naar aanleiding van Coll. 4 vers 3 en 4: „Biddende meteen ook voor ons, dat God ons de deur des Woords opene om te spreken de verborgenheid van Christus, om Welke ik ook gekomen ben ; opdat ik die moge openbaren, gelijk ik moet spreken".
De gemeente werd bij een drietal gedachten bepaald:
Ie. Om een geopende deur, ;
2e. Om een diepe verborgenheid;
3e. Om een betamelijke predikwijze.
Na een ernstige prediking richtte ds. Goedhart nog enige hartelijke woorden tot de Eerw. heer Kesting en tot de gemeente, waarin hij zei: hier is uw nieuwe hulpprediker; aanvaardt hem uit de hand des Heeren. Zie wat een voorrecht, daar er zoveel vacante gemeenten zijn.
Zie, hoe God het voor onze gemeente weer wèl gemaakt heeft in het geven van een arbeider in Zijn Wijngaard. Gedenk hem in het gebed, opdat hem een deur des Woords geopend worde om te spreken de verborgenheid van Christus, zoals het moet.
Hierna werd de nieuwe hulpprediker toegezongen Psalm 20 vers 1, waarna deze mooie dienst met dankgebed en het zingen van Psalm 118 vers 2 besloten werd.
Des avonds verbond zich de Eerw. heer Kesting onder zeer grote belangstelling aan zijn gemeente met Joh, 3 vers 20b : „Zo is dan deze mijne blijdschap vervuld geworden".
Nadat gezongen was Psalm 68 vers 2 richtte de Eerw. heer Kesting nog enkele hartelijke woorden tot ds. Goedhart en zijn ouders, van wie hij reeds zoveel vriendschap en gastvrijheid mocht ondervinden.

1953- 1966 werkzaam in hervormde gemeente Dirksland, en verbonden aan ziekenhuis Bethesda

Na 1966 in heel veel gemeenten gepreekt door het hele land heen,maar niet aan een gemeente verbonden.
1970 naar Sommelsdijk verhuisd
1980 terug naar Dirksland verhuisd

Naast de vele stukjes in "Het Eilandennieuws" ( wekelijks) en dagboek "Met Hart en Huis" (zelfs na zijn overlijden nog enige jaargangen, tot 1985) en onder het pseudoniem "Jan de Timmerman" en onder zijn eigen naam in "De vriend van oud en Jong" zijn er van zijn hand ook enige boekjes met meditaties verschenen: "De geschiedenis van Jozef" ( 13 preken) en "de roeping van Petrus" ( 5 preken) , de laatste na zijn overlijden gepubliceerd.
Ook was hij administrateur van "de zaaijer"
Verder hield hij vele politieke spreekbeurten en zgn tijdredes voor de SGP.
