    Het is niet duidelijk of Snabbe een overgeerfde familienaam was dan wel of Hessel als eerste met die (toe)naam werd aangeduid. Wellicht kan verder onderzoek meer bijzonderheden over zijn gezin aan hetlicht brengen. Voorlopig weten we slechts dat hij een zoon had (de Brabantse Leeuw, jrg 41 (1992) J..A.M. Smulders).
