Albert Scholten huwde op 20 mei 1759 Willemijne Soeterink, weduwe van Willem Mullerink. Omdat Albert op het erve Mulderink ging wonen nam hij deze naam aan.
Na het overlijden van zijn vrouw trouwt hij op 30 november 1788 met Elisabeth Loeneman. In het trouwboek wordt hij dan Albert Scholten (op Mulderink) genoemd.
