Jan Kiers (Meppel 19-01-1724/Dwingeloo 18-12-1788) is in Batavia getrouwd met Aafje Ittema (14-07-1737 Burum Friesland / Batavia mei 1772). Op Batavia worden 7 kinderen geboren, te weten, Hendrika, Sicco Hendrikus, Jan, Lourens (een van mijn voorouders), Albertus, Jacobus en Abraham. Na het overlijden van zijn vrouw Aafje, komt Jan Kiers terug naar Holland. Hij bouwt een dubbel woonhuis in Meppel en koopt de Havezate Oldengaerde in Dwingeloo. Hij trouwt op 19-04-1778 in Enkhuizen met Bregjen Muzelaar . Uit dit huwelijk worden 6 kinderen geboren.
Bovengenoemde Lourens Kiers trouwt op 14-12-1800 in Dinxterveen met Catharina de Vries. ɩn van hun 7 kinderen is Aafke Kiers, die met Hendrik Voogd trouwt. Een van hun 9 kinderen, Catharina Voogd (Meppel 26-01-1840 / 08-05-1900) trouwt op 29-07-1865 in Meppel met Roelof Broek, de zoon van Jan Broek van Zwartss. Er komen 7 kinderen en drie generaties later komt ondergetekende, Rob Broek.
