    Zwartsluis
    Den 1sten Mei was het vijftig jaar geleden, dat de heer Jacob Jonkman als bewaarder der Synagoge enz. werd aangesteld. Waarlijk een zeldzaam jubileum. Ons kerkbestuur, bestaande uit de heeren J. Overweg, Sal. Aronius en Sal. v.d. Sluis wenschte hem dan ook op dien heugenlijken dag geluk en bood hem tevens een enveloppe met inhoud namens alle gemeenteleden aan. Velen kwamen hem dien dag de hand drukken en 's avonds werd den 88-jarige een serenade gebracht. Met een schat van bloemen werd de jubilaris gehuldigd en van onze Synagoge wapperde de driekleur. Den jubilaris en zijn gade zij nog een reeks van jaren toegewenscht in de beste levensomstandigheden.
    Vermelden wij nog, dat genoemd echtpaar deze week het 55-jarig huwelijksfeest hoopt te vieren.
