    Zwartsluis, 11 Oct. Gisteravond omstreeks half acht had hier een ernstig ongeval plaats. De 19jarige slagersknecht J. Schoonewelle kwam per fiets van de Nieuwesluis en reed in de richting van het Buitenkwartier. Op den dijk ten hoogte van het logement Nuis reed hij den 44-jarigen arbeider J.W. Bouman achterop. Hij wilde dezen rechts passeeren, doch toen hij vlak bij hem gekomen was, stak Bouman plotseling dwars over, met het gevolg, dat hij werd aangereden en tegen het huis van Nuis aanviel. Bloedende uit een hoofdwonde werd hij bewusteloos naar huis vervoerd, waar hij hedenmorgen omstreeks 8 uur overleed, zonder tot bewustzijn te zijn gekomen.
    Schoonewelle, die eveneens kwam te vallen, bekwam geen letsel.
