Notes about Jan Claasz Schaap

Jan Schaap liet het Jonge Schaap op 21 september 1683 tegen brand verzekeren in een assurantiecontract.
Jan Claesz. Schaap zou vrij lang blijven werken met de molen die hij had gebouwd, pas omstreeks 1720 kwamen parten van het Jonge Schaap in andere handen. Dit waren o.a. Dirk Schaap en Claas Jansz. Bruijn, vermoedelijk twee zonen van Schaap. In 1726 stond het Jonge Schaap op naam van Claas Jansz. Bruijn. Later zou Claas Bruijn ook hout zagen met de paltrok “de Vaandeldrager”, die vlak bij de Hogendijk in Zaandam-West stond. Claas Bruijn verkocht deze laatstgenoemde molen in 1750 voor afbraak, wat Bruijn met het Jonge Schaap deed is niet bekend.
