2 CONC van Epirus uitgeschakeld, nog voor hij Constantinopel had kunnenbereiken. Zijn zoon Robrecht van Courtenay zag zijn rijk verschrompelentot de
2 CONC stad en de omgeving van Constantinopel. Bij diens dood (1228) werdzijn broer, Boudewijn II, pas elf jaar oud, tot de keizerlijkewaardigheid
2 CONC verheven.
