Longtime resident of Tecumseh. Beloved husband of 69 years to the late Bertha (nee St. Louis) (1998). Loving father to Barbara and Real Billette; Bill and Maragret Mero, of B.C.; Charmaine Hebert (Joseph, 1999); Rodrick and Barbara Jean Mero. Dear friend and companion of Cecilia Campeau. Son of the late William and Ida Mero (nee May). Dear pepe to 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by his siblings Lottie Paquette, Celina Leblanc, Louis Adams, Omer Adam, Margaret Mayea, Loretta St.Louis and sister-in-laws Alphonsine Simard and Marcella Jessop. Bill was the proprietor of Mero Turkey Farm, was a former member of the Tecumseh Golden Age Club, and enjoyed travel, socializing, and dancing into his latter years. Visiting Thursday, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at The Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh (519-735-2830). Parish prayers Friday at 3:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Anne Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Robert Couture will be the celebrant. Interment at St. Anne Cemetery. In kindness, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Bill Mero in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held on September 30, 2007. All are welcome.
