"Joanna C. CORBIN b. 3-23-1834, married Harrison F. Orvis at Monroe, Wis. (Bible records of Francis Orvis 1849, Father of Harrison) They moved to Central City, CO with their two sons, Lewis F. and John P. Their two daughters, Ida May and Luella Montana were born in Russell Gulch, an early day mining camp in Gilpin County, Colorado. In 1865, Joanna was assaulted by three drunken miners which resulted in her death on December 10, 1865. Their four children were cared for by friends and neighbors until the father took them to Boulder County, Colorado where the children grew to teenagers. In 1875, Harrison married a second time, to a Susan McNitt. They had five or six children and when she died. He eventually married a third time. He died in Stillwater, OK on March 27, 1920 and is buried in Ingalls Cemetery, OK. Harrison Fletcher Orvis, Son of Francis and Zeruah Orvis was b. Jan 5, 1835. Married Aug 14, 1854 to Joanna."
