Dec 15 (or 31), 1816; m. Lucy Esther Slack of Stonington, Conn., June 10, 1838; she was the dau. of Samuel S. and Sarah (Leeds) Slack, and was b. Sep 5, 1814. He lived in Webster until 1860, then he went to Plymouth,Connecticut, and thence in 1861 to Calamus, Clinton County, Iowa. He enlisted Aug 12, 1862, in Co. D, 26th Iowa Vol Inf.; was wounded Jan 11, 1863, at Arkansas Post, Ark.; mustered out June 6, 1865, at Washington. In 1871 he moved to Carrollton, Iowa, where he lived until his death, February. 1, 1902. His wife (who is called by a grandson"one of the best women that ever lived") d. near Carrollton, Iowa, February. 16, 1901."
