Notes by Donna Blaemire, "The Broughton Family Tree,"Descendant of Amos Broughton
"Annue Broughton was born to Amos Broughton III and his wife Nancy Timmerman on March 15, 1832 in Jefferson County, New York. Annue married Luman A. Baker who was born in Ohio on November 13, 1832 to Alpheus and Mercy Baker.
The couple would have three children, two of whom were born prior to the Civil War. Cerena May and Eugene Merrill were born in 1855 and 1857 respectively. Their father, Luman enlisted in the 5th Indiana Battery (Artillery) in November 1861 at Whitley County, Indiana. He served less than a year when he became ill and died on July 23, 1862. His death came just a month after Annue gave birth to their third child named Millie Luella.
Annue would not live to see her children raised to adulthood. She passed away on December 10, 1867 and is buried beside her mother at Swan Cemetery in Noble County, Indiana. Annue's husband, Luman is buried in the Baker family plot at Lisbon Cemetery."
