Henry Barricklow, 2nd son of Frederick and Nancy Dugan Barricklow was born March 10, 1831. In 1832 his parents migrated to Ohio. Tax receipts show that Frederick Barricklow paid tax on 120 acres of land, section 14, Cadiz Township, Harrison County, Ohio. The amount paid was $1.79, dated 1832.
Henry attended the school in Paxton District. He grew up to be a man of 200 pounds. He had 3 brothers, and one sister. The sister died 1863. His father died 1858 leaving the four brothers a farm of 163 acres. The brothers worked together and bought 180 acres, Section 22 Athens Township, Harrison Co., Ohio. They next bought 182 acres, in the same township. This was the farm Henry got in settlement of the estate in 1871. No issue.
Henry Barricklow's first wife, Martha Kyle died. He and his second wife Mary Henderson had no children. Henry loved fine cattle, strong horses, and good sheep. He was a Director and heaviest stockholder in the Fourth National Bank, Cadiz, Ohio, in 1893. He had good health and a nice life. His nephew, David Barricklow, looked after him the last six years of his life, 1910-1916. His wife Mary died January 20, 1912. Both are buried in the Mausoleum Cadiz Cemetery. The farm was left to his nephew, David Thompson Barricklow.
