Voer op ’s Lands oorlogsschip "Mars". Vreemd is dat het bijschrift van het schilderij als overlijdensdatum 4 maart vermeldt, terwijl de grafsteen 4 februari noemt. Daarnaast wordt op het grafschrift Crul zowel met een "C" als met een "K" gespeld.
Het feit dat Wilhelm ook "Heer van Burgst" was (en zijn geboortestad Haarlem), plaatst hem in dezelfde stam als Salomon Crul (de laatste registreerde het familiewapen).
Willem koopt de heerlijkheid Burgst in 1758.het is een beetje jammer dat het familiewapen in bovenstaande genealogie beschreven is, de vader van Wilhelm (Willem) zou Cornelis zijn, echter wie de vader van Cornelis is, is mij nog onbekend
