Ruth G. Paton, 86, entered into eternal rest Friday, May 10, 2002 at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck.
Ruth was born December 4, 1915 in rural Reinbeck, the daughter of Frank and Emma DauSchmidt Snow. She attended Reinbeck Schools and graduated from Reinbeck High School with the class of 1933.
On November 30, 1935, she was united in marriage to George Donald Paton in Galena, Ilinois. They made their home in Faribault, Minnesota until 1942. He preceded her in death in 1970.
When Don entered in the military service during World War 2, the family moved back to Reinbeck and lived with Ruth's parents until the end of the war. They then moved to Eagle Grove for one year before returning to Reinbeck, where Ruth has resided since.
Ruth helped her husband at Wilson and Company Hatchery and later she was involved in their business, Paton Brothers Trucking Company. She had also been employed by Pioneer Hy-Bred, Lonergan Drug, Botsford's Cafe, Parkview Manor, and Pronto Market.
She was an active and devoted member of the United Methodist Church, wheres he served in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Chapter #273, Order of the Eastern Star in Reinbeck.
She loved watching her grandchildren in whatever they did. She enjoyed bowling, high school wrestling, watching rodeos, and playing bingo. She also loved to crochet, knit, bake, and keep her hands active.
She is survived by one daughter, Geri (Allen) Weeks of Buckingham; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois 'Donnie' snow of Reinbeck; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son in infancy; one daughter, Billye Gene Lorenzen; five sisters; and two brothers.
Services 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2002 at United methodist Church in Reinbeck with burial in Reinbeck Cemetery.
