"HARRY R. AND EVA (WINTER) ADAMS
Harry Richard Adams was born November 28, 1909 near Buffalo Center, a son of Henry and Ella (Mulder) Adams.
He attended school and grew to manhood in the Buffalo Center area and helped his father with farming. In 1926 his father held a public auction at his farm six miles northwest of Buffalo Center and the family moved to town. A couple ofsummers he followed the wheat harvest in South Dakota.

On September 6, 1933 at Estherville, Iowa he was united in marriage to Eva Jeanette Winter. They established their home in Buffalo Center, Iowa.
Eva was born June 20, 1910 near Buffalo Center to John H. and Elizabeth (Sapp) Winter. After finishing elementary school she attended the Ledyard high school and graduated with the class of 1928. She attended Iowa State Teachers Collegeat Cedar Falls, Iowa, after which she taught rural schools for two years in Kossuth County.
Harry drove school bus for 13 years. At the time that he started driving bus, the driver had to provide the bus, gas, repairs, etc. In 1936 he purchased a 1929 Cheverolet truck to be used for a school bus. He also worked part-time forthe Community Oil Company, tow years at"

"...Koppen's Station, and for two and one-half years as a mechanic at Costigan's Garage. In 1947 he also did power spraying of fruit trees, barns and poultry houses. In 1947 he started working for the Winnebago County MaintenanceDeplartment.
Harry and Eva had five children: Marjorie (Mrs. Dean Mutschler) of Kiester, Minnesota; Arlis (Mrs. Tom Rich) of Algona; Richard of Forest City, married to Murril Grisham; Sharon (Mrs. Larry Nerdig) of Forest City; and Beverly (Mrs. RogerJutting) of Tempe, Arizona.
After being ill with cancer for almost two years, Eva passed away on January 15, 1951 at Buffalo Center. She is buried in Olena Mound Cemetery.
Harry was married to Mrs. Darlene Friesenborg on October 9, 1952 at Forest City, Iowa.

Mrs. Darlene Potter Friesenborg and Harry R. Adams were united in marriage October 9, 1952 in the chapel of the Methodist Church in Forest City, Iowa.
As a larger home was needed for the two families, they purchased the large nine-room house from the Lohrbach estate and moved there following their marriage, along with seven of their eight children. ... Following this they returned to their former jobs until the fall of 1963 when they moved to Thompson, Iowa. ... They enjoyed ... traveling, especially to the homes of two of their children, David in Florida and Beverly in Arizona.
Darlene became ill early in the spring of 1983 and passed away January 3, 1964 in Forest City of cancer. She is buried in Graceland Cemetery at Buffalo Center, Iowa.
Harry continues to live in their home at Thompson ..."

The Potter family moved to Kossuth County area near Buffalo Center in 1920 where they farmed for several years before moving to a farm southeast of Buffalo Center. Darlene attended rural schools in Kossuth County through 8th grade. ...
