She attended Titonka High School in Titonka, Iowa and graduated in 1976. On May 6, 1978 Cheryl was married in Victorville, CA. They lived in California, Iowa and North Dakota before making their home in Rapid City, SD.
Cheryl was known in the community for her love of sewing. She managed Hancock Fabrics, worked at The Sewing Center Inc., selling sewing machines and teaching sewing classes. Cheryl started her own business in 2003 (Cheryl's Creative Corner).
She did long arm quilting, custom sewing, sewing classes for home school kids, and classes for adults and community education. She was a supervisor for the sewing division at the Central States Fair and taught classes at the Sewing Festival in Billings Mt.
Cheryl always looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed her annual trips to Deadwood for The Great Quilt Escape. Cheryl and Wes are members of Knollwood Heights United Methodist
Cheryl was known to her grandkids as "Nana" and was a big part of their lives doing daycare for them before her health made her unable to care for them.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, three children, six grandchildren; her parents and a sister,
Cheryl was preceded in death by her brother, Neal E. Hansen; maternal grandparents, Herman and Wyona Harms; paternal grandparents, Ernest and Evelyn Hansen; and parent-in-laws, William and Iris Householder.
Inurnment will be at Buffalo Township Cemetery, Titonka, IA at a future date.
