From Dec. of Joseph Bragg by Damon Floyd:
John Bragg was born in 1733. He married Frances Marks, daughter of John Marks Sr and Hannah at Goochland Co. VA. He died circa 1812 at Fluvanna Co. VA
Note: CENSUS: 1810 census for Fluvanna Co., VA lists Bragg, John Township: Fluvanna County: Fluvanna State: Virginia Year: 1810 Roll: M252_68 Page: 285 Image: 549. He is listed with 1 male under 10, 1 10-16, 1 over 45; 1 female under 10, 2 16-26, 1 over 45. There is also a John Bragg, Jr. listed with 1 male 26-44; 3 females under 10 and 1 26-44.

On 4 August 1752 at Richmond Co., Virginia, the court records showed "John Bragg against Sir Marmaduke Beckwith for being a witness. Court ordered Beckwith to pay 50 pounds of tobacco to John Bragg."44
On March 6, 1758 at Richmond Co, VA, John Bragg was granted a certivicate for obtaining letters of administration on estate of Elizabeth Bragg, dec'd. with John Ford his security. John Edison, Matthew Kelly, Henry Suttle, and Wim William (sic0 or any 3 appointed to appraise the slaves (if any) and personal estate of Elizabeth Bragg dec'd. and return an inventory to next court.
On Dec 1, 1778 at Fluvanna Co, VA, John bought 99 acres of land on Roundabout Creek adjoining lands of Elias Williams and Wilson Milses-Cary from John Pierce. (signature shows John Pace and wife Nancy)
On 5 Oct 1797 at Fluvanna Co, VA. John purchased 67 acres fromWlias Wills, Sr. bounded by John Bragg's land on the west, James Cole and Absalom Applebery on the west & southwest, William Johnson and Caleb Stone on the south east and east and by the land bought of Lisle byDavid Ross on the east and which will fully appear on a patent granted to said Elias Wills bearing the date March 1, 1773.
