Lane Shields * Puckett and John Smith members of "the Pittsburg Town Company" for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy three & 25/100 dollars to us in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day the date hereof bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do bargain sell and convey unto William C. Paine all of the right title and trust vested in us as aforesaid in and to that tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in that part of the town of Grinada(sic) formerly called Pittsburg in the county of Yallobusha and State of Mississippi known and designated as survey number five Beginning at the South East corner of Wm Humphreys survey number four running thence west Two chains & thirty links to a stake thence South ten chains & twenty two links to a stake thence East ten chains & thirty links to a stake thence North two chains & twenty five links to the beginning which tract or parcel of land containing by estimate two & 31/100 acres to the same more of less together with all and singular the appurtenances thereto of right appertaining we do hereby warrant and forever defend unto the said William C.
