Executors: James Farquhar Groundwater, East Road, Kirkwall [her brother]; Donald Cumming, 15 East Road, Kirkwall [her son-in-law]. Will dated 2 August 1929, registered in Sheriff Court Books of Orkney 19 December 1940. When the will was made she was residing at 15 East Road, Kirkwall [home of her daughter Annie, wife of Donald Cumming].
She left everything to her children "to my whole children equally among them share and share alike the children of any of them who may have predeceased me leaving lawful issue to take their parents share per stirpes and not per capita". That means that the children of her deceased son William, for example, inherited his share divided between all of them. Will drawn up by Macrae & Robertson solicitors, Kirkwall. Total estate was under £500.
